In this role, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health of our organization, overseeing a budget of over $35 million annually. You will oversee all aspects of financial management, with a special focus on maximizing the impact of donations and grants to further our mission of serving the community.  Your responsibilities will include financial reporting, strategic planning, and providing crucial insights to enhance organizational performance.

**Position Overview: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)**

As our CFO and vital member of our Executive Management team, you will play a key role in shaping our organization's financial future. You will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance. Additionally, you will lead efforts to secure and manage donations, grants, and other sources of funding to support our programs and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities: 

- Develop and implement financial strategies to support organizational goals and objectives.

- Oversee the preparation of budgets, financial reports, tax returns, regulatory agency reports, and grant proposals.

- Manage cash flow, investments, and financial risk to ensure long-term sustainability.

- Oversee payroll processing and payments to organizational vendors.

- Oversee the operations of the Billing and Collections Department ensuring that all bills for services and collection practices are compliant with regulatory standards and payer contracts and that collections are received in accordance with payer contracts in a timely manner.

- Cultivate relationships with donors, grantors, and funding partners to maximize support.

- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements.

- Provide strategic guidance to senior departmental leadership on financial matters.

- Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals to achieve excellence.

- Work with Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors to develop strategic plans, determine priorities, and implement tactics to support the organization's mission.

- Provide financial analysis as needed, to include capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.

- Serve as a member on investment committee with Chairs of Finance, Retirement Plan committee, and Housing Boards sponsored by DLC.

- Collaborate with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Director of Human Resources to assist in the evaluation, procurement, and ongoing monitoring of all employee benefits.

- Work with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to monitor departmental financial performance and success

- Responsible for the negotiation and timely execution of third-party payer contracts.

- Implement and monitor all systems of internal accounting controls to include, mitigation of the potential for fraud and ensure safeguarding of assets.

- Provide accurate financial reporting and ensure supervisors and staff are educated about, and monitored regarding, contractual and regulatory matters that impact daily operations. 

- Consult with Executive Leadership Team, Compliance Officer, and if necessary, legal counsel to determine the best approach to insure accurate and timely notification, full disclosure, and plan of correction adherence should a compliance concern ever arise. 

- Ensure all historical financial records are maintained safely and securely, with ease of access by authorized personnel along with external auditors and outside regulatory agencies. 

- Responsible for the evaluation and procurement of appropriate property and casualty insurance to mitigate the risk of loss.

Qualifications:

- Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (required); CPA preferred

- Proven experience in financial management, preferably in a not-for-profit, healthcare and/or philanthropic setting

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, and financial analysis

- 5 years of experience in a similar role

- Demonstrated staff leadership and supervisory experience

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire donors and stakeholders

- Strategic thinker with the ability to drive innovation and change

- Experience in reporting, both verbally and in writing, to internal management, boards, and external agencies 

- Proven negotiation, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills

- Professional communication style, both verbally and written

- Commitment to our organization's mission, values, standards, procedures, and protocols

- Staying compliant with all required training

- Ability to pass a Level II DCF Mental Health Fingerprinting, Drug Screen and Local Criminal Check 

- Clear/Active FL Driver's License 

- Healthcare/Non-Profit/Mental Healthcare Experience
