Job Summary: DLC's Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) was designed to provide a voluntary daytime treatment option to adolescents that is structured, intensive and medically supervised.
This unique program assists adolescents exhibiting psychiatric symptoms that put their self-care, school functioning and family or interpersonal relationships at risk.
***This is a cross-functional position often working with Acute Care and Emergency Services to assist with other aspects of essential services - it is imperative that potential Candidates are willing and able to work with other departments when needed***
Key Responsibilities:
(PHP Clinician Duties)
- Utilizing a variety of clinical skills to assess, intervene and treat adolescents within the behavioral healthcare field as well as participating in clinical supervision.
- Providing individual, family and group therapy.
- Deftly managing a caseload based on Utilization Management Plan.
- Assisting with PHP's goal to decrease the need for hospitalization and offer a safe environment to learn healthy coping skills without the need for 24-hour inpatient or residential support.
- Working closely with entire PHP team as a fully cross-trained member on all workflows (morning/admissions/orientations) to ensure the program works smoothly.
- Conducting and documenting client assessments according to best practice standards.
- Developing, reviewing and evaluating custom treatment plans in accordance with guidelines.
- Approaching clinical services to empower clients, show a focus on recovery, listen to client input and educate families.
- Communicating with internal/external providers as well as school systems to ensure continuity of care.
(Clinical Coordinator Duties)
- Acting as the main point of contact for PHP admissions and referrals.
- Staying informed of all Client and Staff changes/issues to assist Clinical Supervisor with managing the needs of the Program.
- Working purposefully to obtain referrals from both internal and external sources.
- Streamlining the Client linkage process to PHP by collaborating with DLC's Children's Crisis Stabilization Unit and Access Center, CCPS plus other outside agencies.
- Maintaining close communications with DLC's PHP Financial Counselors to assist with securing Group coverage as needed.
- Monitoring and updating multiple TEAMS spreadsheets to organize schedules and track the daily census.
- Working towards growing the PHP Program overall and its census by providing informative education to families, the community, schools and additional external referral sources.
Qualifications:
- A Master's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university in clinical psychology, social work, behavioral science, counseling or related field = Required
- Current FL LMFT/LMHC/LCSW License = Preferred But Not Required
- Two plus years of experience working with adolescents (13-17) in a behavioral healthcare setting = Required
- Spanish bilingual = Preferred But Not Required
- General knowledge of treatment concepts as well as rules/regulations pertaining to the treatment of the mentally ill or those with substance abuse disorders = Required
- Inclusive skills in clinical assessment, evaluation, planning, documentation and intervention
- Ability to recognize the need for, set, communicate and maintain client boundaries = Required
- Demonstrated abilities in the proper management of time, communication and information = Required
- Confidence to work with a combination of empathy, energy and efficiency = Required
- Natural ability to work well with a diverse group of peers, coworkers and community partners = Required
- Microsoft Office 365 skills (Including Teams/Video Conferencing) and Electronic Medical Records experience = Strongly Preferred
- Staying compliant on all trainings and immunizations = Required
- Ability to pass Level II DCF Mental Health Fingerprinting, Drug Screen and Local Criminal Check = Required
