Salary: Starting At $60,000 (Experience Taken Into Consideration)

Job Summary:
Critical role in DLC's mission through planning, coordinating, and executing a wide range of events to support goals. Reports directly to Vice President of Advancement and utilizes high level of organization and creativity to manage all aspects of event planning and execution, from concept to completion. Key Responsibilities:
- Event Planning and Coordination: Develop and implement
event strategies and concepts.
~ Plan/coordinate all aspects of events (budgeting,
logistics, and vendor management)
~ Work collaboratively with Advancement Staff
~ Ensure events align with the organization's mission and deliver desired
outcomes
~ Serve as lead for Sound Minds signature event and DLC Advocate events
- Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Identify, negotiate,
and manage relationships
~ Includes caterers, artists, rental providers, etc.
~ Liaise with sponsors, donors, and other stakeholders
~ Secure necessary support and resources as appropriate
- Marketing and Promotion: Develop promotional strategies
and materials.
~ Work collaboratively with the Marketing Team
- On-Site Event Management: Oversee event setup, execution,
and breakdown.
~ Ensure events run smoothly, addressing any issues that arise promptly and
efficiently
~ Provide exceptional customer service to event attendees and participants
- Post-Event Evaluation: Conduct evaluations to determine
the success of each event.
~ Gather feedback from attendees, staff, and stakeholders
~ Use feedback to continuously improve event quality and effectiveness
- Speaker's Bureau: Respond to community requests for
subject matter experts.
~ Coordinate scheduling with administrative support personnel
~ Design and deliver engaging presentations for speakers' use
~ Maintain the Speaker's Bureau library of resources.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Secure, recruit, and manage
event interns and volunteers.
~ Provide guidance and support to all individuals involved in the events
process
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Arts Administration, or a related field = Required
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in event planning and management, preferably within a non-profit organization = Required
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously = Required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, possessing a friendly demeanor and customer-oriented approach = Required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong time management skills = Required
- A strong sense of personal accountability and responsibility for actions and performance = Required
- Tactful discretion with confidential and privileged information = Required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event management software = Required
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends = Required
- Staying compliant on all trainings and immunizations = Required
- Ability to pass Level II DCF Mental Health Fingerprinting, Drug Screen and Local Criminal Check = Required
