Position Overview: Inpatient Psychiatrist for Adult & Child Crisis Stabilization Units [Position # 1146]

As a key member of our highly reputable Baker Act receiving facility team, we are seeking a compassionate, calm, and skilled psychiatrist. Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Acute Care Services and Medical Director while working independently to provide high-quality psychiatric care.

  • Deliver direct psychiatric services in a crisis/inpatient setting for both adults and children.

  • Gain cross-training experience with Detox and Crossroads substance use recovery programs.

  • Assist with low-census and acute-care duties in the Child PHP and Medical Services.

  • Participate in Baker Act court hearings and conduct evaluations as needed.

  • Provide telemedicine follow-up care to inmates at Collier County Jail.

  • Collaborate in treatment planning through morning team report meetings with DLC staff.

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, including diagnostic impressions, treatment recommendations, and medication management.

  • Establish and maintain meaningful relationships with clients and families, ensuring optimal care and support.

  • Ensure compliance with medical record standards and HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Active FL Psychiatrist License & DEA - Required

  • MD Degree from an accredited institution - Required

  • Experience with Baker Acts - Required

  • 2 years of inpatient experience - Required

  • 2 years of experience working with adults, children, and adolescents with severe mental illnesses/co-occurring disorders - Required

  • Strong understanding of mental health and substance use treatment regulations - Required

  • Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and agencies - Required

  • Spanish-speaking is a plus - Preferred

  • Ability to respond effectively to emergencies and maintain professional boundaries - Required

  • Proficiency in EMR and Microsoft Office 365/Teams - Required

  • Commitment to compliance with training, immunizations, and background checks - Required

Logistics & Compensation:

  • Full-Time Exempt Position
    • Schedule is flexible based on the demands of the role, with standard business hours typically Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
    • Additional Hours may be required as needed to meet project deadlines or other priorities

  • On-Call Crisis Stabilization Psychiatrist:
    • $3,000 weekly flat rate for on-call duty
    • Includes rounds, psychiatric evaluation/medication management, and after-hours emergency consultations
