Position Summary: This clinical position utilizes a variety of direct clinical skills in the assessment and treatment intervention services for child, adolescent, adult and/or family behavioral health care.
Level of Authority: Minimal Supervision with independent decision making.
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Conduct and document assessment of client using best practice standards.
Develop, review and evaluate treatment plans based on client age, individual needs, condition, client/family input and diagnosis. Assure assessment and treatment plans are reviewed per program guidelines.
Provide clinical services in alignment with Center Core Values to include client empowerment, least restrictive/most appropriate treatment, recovery focused care, client choice and input, appropriate family/significant other involvement, and ongoing client/family education.
Provide individual, family and group therapy.
Complete a variety of required records-keeping duties; make appropriate entries in client records; develop related correspondence; complete IS and other administrative forms.
Effectively manage and maintain caseload based on Utilization Management Plan and Productivity.
Participate in clinical supervision.
Demonstrate awareness and knowledge of funding sources and requirements.
Communication with external and internal providers and programs to ensure continuity of care.
Demonstrate ability to use DSM-5 with skill and accuracy.
Function as part of a treatment team.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
? Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in psychology, social work, behavioral science or related.
? Minimum of two years experience working with children or adults in a behavioral healthcare setting is required. When appropriate, relevant experience may substitute for degree.

? Must be able to assess client needs, provide direct services and relate to a wide variety of co-workers,
clientele, and community agencies.
? Must have knowledge of overall objectives and treatment concepts; knowledge of rules and
regulations pertaining to the care and treatment of the mentally ill and/or individuals with substance
? Must be highly organized and have the ability to keep current and accurate records and reports.
? Minimum intermediate-level Microsoft office skills.

? Data Utilization: Requires the ability to compile, assemble, copy, record and/or transcribe data and/or
information according to a prescribed schema or plan. Includes judging whether readily observable
functional, structural or compositional characteristics are similar to or divergent from prescribed
standards, procedures or routines.
? Human Interaction: Requires the ability to compassionately and effectively interact with potentially
aggressive individuals by de-escalation and diffusion techniques. Performs such within well
established policies, procedures and standards.
? Equipment, Machinery, Tools, and Materials Utilization: Requires the ability to operate, maneuver
and/or control the actions of equipment, machinery or tools and/or materials to perform the essential
functions of the job.
? Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of reference, descriptive, and/or advisory
data and information.
? Mathematical Aptitude: Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and
division; ability to calculate decimals and percentages, including the ability to accurately process
monetary and inventory transactions.
? Functional Reasoning: Requires the ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or
diagrammatic form. Involves semi-routine standardized work with some latitude for independent
judgment concerning choices of action.
? Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise the judgment, decisiveness and creativity in
situations involving a variety of generally pre-defined duties which are often characterized by changes
in moods and/or behaviors.
? Physical Requirements: Tasks may involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light
work but may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling of objects and materials of light weight
(up to 10 lbs). Some tasks involve work at a keyboard or work station, resulting in repetitive hand/arm
motion and extended periods of time of visual contact with a computer monitor. Staff assigned to
Acute Care, Emergency Services and residential programs will be required to assist with physical
restraint of aggressive clients using methods approved by David Lawrence Center guidelines.
? Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require visual perception and discrimination and high levels of
alertness. Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
? Environmental Factors: Some tasks may involve exposure to adverse environmental conditions such
as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes;
machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, animals/wildlife, and toxic/poisonous agents.
? Occupational Exposure: Some risk of exposure to violence, disease or pathogenic substances.
