Job Summary: Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) play a crucial role in welcoming Clients and completing intake procedures. They support overall Psychiatrist, APRN, Nursing and Clinical Teams through evaluations and medication management services, serving as the primary point of contact for Clients and their DLC treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Client check-in and initial intake procedures.

- Providing therapeutic communication and client engagement.

- Taking vital signs, height/weight, calculating BMI, noting/confirming allergies, etc.

- Completing observed and unobserved drug screening procedures.

- Reviewing Client medication history and electronically updating list of medications.

- Obtaining ROIs, Client Systems Reviews and Self-Reported Medical Histories.

- Completing Pain Screening Scale, Credible Medical Profile and State Reporting forms.

- Providing Client with the PHQ-9 and other approved evidence-based self-screening tools.

- Scribing Treatment Plan templates for Practitioner review.

- Reporting changes/concerns in Client mood or behavior to Nurse and/or Practitioner.

- General and routine Client education as directed by Nurse and/or Practitioner.

- Other duties as assigned by the Nursing Supervisor of Outpatient/Medical Services.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or GED = Required

- Clear/Active FL Driver's License = Required

- Prior experience in Behavioral Health, especially Substance Use Disorders = Strongly Preferred

- Certified Behavioral Health Technician (CBHT/RBT) = Preferred But Not Required

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with HIPAA adherence = Required

- Ability to maintain effective composure in a fast-paced outpatient clinical setting = Required

- Basic knowledge of mental health diagnoses and basic treatment approaches = Required

- Commitment to trauma-informed, patient-centered care = Required

- Ability to work with diverse populations including children, adolescents, and adults = Required

- Microsoft Office 365 skills (Including Teams/Video Conferencing) and Electronic Medical Records experience = Strongly Preferred

- Staying compliant on all trainings and immunizations = Required

- Ability to pass Level II DCF Mental Health Fingerprinting, Drug Screen and Local Criminal Check = Required

Physical Requirements: This position requires a mix of physical activities throughout the workday. Duties involve periods of standing, sitting, and walking, often across various areas of the site. The role also includes tasks that may require bending, reaching, and other physical movements. Candidates must be able to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. A reasonable level of physical stamina and mobility is necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
