(QI) Compliance Specialist

Position Summary:
The QI Compliance Specialist ensures that all organizational processes,
programs, and policies align with regulatory standards, accreditation
requirements, and quality improvement objectives. This role involves monitoring
compliance, analyzing performance data, coordinating improvement initiatives,
and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance quality and
operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance Monitoring & Auditing:
- Monitor
adherence to regulatory requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, state and
federal laws, HIPAA).
- Conduct routine
internal audits and assessments to identify compliance gaps.
- Assist in development,
implementation, and tracking of corrective action plans to address
non-compliance.
Quality Improvement:
- Collaborate
with teams to design, implement, and evaluate quality improvement
initiatives.
- Analyze
performance data and trends to identify areas for improvement.
- Facilitate root
cause analyses (RCA) for process inefficiencies or adverse outcomes.
- Establish
metrics to track the success of improvement projects.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain
accurate records of compliance activities, audits, and QI projects.

Participate in root cause analyses (RCAs) and
failure mode and effects analyses (FMEAs) to address system inefficiencies and
risks.

Prepare reports for leadership and external regulators.
- Ensure timely
submission of required documentation to accrediting bodies.
Training & Education:
- Provide
compliance and quality improvement training to staff and leadership.
- Develop
educational materials and resources on regulatory updates and QI best
practices.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Serve as a
liaison between regulatory agencies and the organization.
- Work closely
with clinical and operational departments to align compliance and QI
efforts.
- Participate in
cross-functional committees and workgroups.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or a related field-Required
- 2 years of experience in quality improvement, compliance, or
healthcare operations
- Familiarity with regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., CMS,
Joint Commission).
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong
analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent
organizational and project management abilities.
- Proficiency in
data analysis tools (e.g., Excel) and quality improvement methodologies
(e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Effective
communication and presentation skills.
- Detail-oriented
with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Work Environment:
- May require
occasional travel for training, audits, or external meetings.
