Job Summary: The Strategic Partnerships and Social Innovation Officer reports to the Vice President of Advancement and will be one of four director-level roles within the Advancement team. Your peer leaders within the team are the Senior Advancement Officer, the Marketing and Communications Director, and the Director of the DLC Wellness Institute. This role is responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives that deepen relationships with existing partners, identify new opportunities, and secure earned-income resources that advance the mission of DLC and generate long-term, sustainable impact.
The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in relationship management, especially related to referrals to DLC, social enterprise, and entrepreneurial business strategies.
Position Details:
- Develop, grow, and empower the Strategic Partnerships and Social Innovation team that is responsible for DLC's business development priorities, including the patient, community, and client referral network, social enterprise opportunities, and state, regional, and corporate relationships. Supervise the Healthcare Partnerships and Referral Manager and their evolving team, as well as future staff related to Social Enterprise.
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Advancement, executive leadership, and other team members to identify earned income funding priorities and align significant earned income funding initiatives with overall organizational goals.
- Design and execute year-round relationship plans for referral sources (physicians, other mental health providers, nonprofit collaborators, schools, law enforcement partners, community organizations, and individuals).
- Design and execute plans for developing social enterprise initiatives that create a funding stream for the organization, complementing traditional fundraising approaches with the goal of generating $5 million in net revenue, starting in 2027.
- Collaborate with the DLC Wellness Institute team to promote online and in-person training opportunities as a part of social enterprise initiatives, and within the Workplace Wellness program related to content and course deliverables for community partners.
- Cultivate strong relationships with partners through regular communication, individualized stewardship efforts, and engagement in organizational activities and special events.
- When appropriate, present to community groups and other stakeholders, exhibiting passionate and motivating public speaking skills.
- Track and analyze partner engagement data, maintain accurate records in the customer relationship management system, and produce reports on progress and outcomes. Share key successes and growth areas with stakeholders.
- Work closely with the marketing and communications team on all aspects of promotion within the Strategic Partnerships and Social Innovation team.
- Proudly and passionately represent DLC at events, meetings, and other networking opportunities to enhance visibility and engage with the community and potential supporters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field = Required (Master's degree preferred)
- 3 to 5 years of related experience, with a demonstrated record of successful relationship management, successful program start-up expertise, and successful empowering leadership experience = Required
- Existing regional relationship networks = Preferred
- Strategic thinking and planning abilities, with experience in identifying and prioritizing partnership opportunities = Required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders = Required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proven leadership and management experience = Required
- Proficiency with CRM systems (i.e., Raiser's Edge) and Microsoft Office Suit = Required
- A passion for mental health and substance use advocacy and a commitment to advancing DLC's mission = Required
- Staying compliant on all trainings and immunizations = Required
- Ability to pass Level II DCF Mental Health Fingerprinting, Drug Screen and Local Criminal Check = Required
Physical Requirements: This position requires a mix of physical activities throughout the workday. Duties involve periods of standing, sitting, and walking, often across various areas of the site. The role also includes tasks that may require bending, reaching, and other physical movements. Candidates must be able to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. A reasonable level of physical stamina and mobility is necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
