Job Summary:
The Emergency Services Assessment Center (ESAC) delivers elevated, modern care for individuals experiencing mental health and substance use crises. We are seeking clinically strong, compassion-driven professionals with experience in intake-based assessment and triage who are committed to providing timely, person-centered care in a fast-paced emergency services environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Triage services to address concerns and/or to determine admission to the crisis unit under Baker Act Law.
- Conducting psychiatric/clinical psychosocial assessment and diagnosis to collect necessary data to make informed decisions about client needs and determine appropriateness of placement under the Baker Act Law.
- Providing crisis intervention, safety planning, and resources and support to adults, children, and families in crisis.
- Processing Admissions and Discharges.
- Working with local law enforcement, hospitals and regional agencies to accept admissions and transfers.
- Transporting Clients in a safe and efficient manner.
- Facilitating timely, thoughtful and accurate discharges for clients who have been admitted to the Emergency Services Assessment Center and Crisis Stabilization Units.
- Completing comprehensive psycho-social assessments for DLC's inpatient Detox Program.
- Developing and evaluating individualized client treatment plans.
- Completing insurance authorization for clients admitted to Emergency Services Assessment Center, Crisis stabilization Units and Detox Program when needed.
- Providing crisis support via telephone and the National Suicide Hotline.
- Working closely with DLC Providers, Nurses, other Clinicians, Behavioral Health Technicians, Support Staff and external community partners.
- Population consists of individuals with mental health or substance use disorder issues; some with severe and persistent co-occurring disorders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Behavioral Science, Psychiatric Nursing, Rehabilitation Counseling or a other relevant field = Required
- 1 year of experience in Mental Healthcare/Behavioral Healthcare setting = Preferred
- Clear/Active FL Driver's License = Required
- Knowledge of Mental Health/ Substance Use Disorder/ treatment principles and techniques = Required
- Ability to assist with inpatient discharge planning and post discharge appointments = Required
- Strong capabilities in multi-disciplinary team collaboration = Required
- Accurate efficiency in a demanding and fast-paced environment = Required
- Ability to relate to a diverse group of Clients and co-workers = Required
- Adaptability to varying and emergent work conditions = Required
- Microsoft Office 365 skills (Including Teams/Video Conferencing) and Electronic Medical Records experience = Strongly Preferred
- Staying compliant on all training and immunizations.
- Ability to pass Level II DCF Mental Health Fingerprinting (General Information can be found HERE), Drug Screen and Local Criminal Check
Physical Requirements:
This position requires a mix of physical activities throughout the workday. Duties involve periods of standing, sitting, and walking, often across various areas of the site. The role also includes tasks that may require bending, reaching, and other physical movements. Candidates must be able to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. A reasonable level of physical stamina and mobility is necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
