Job Summary:

The Clinical Education Strategist serves as the clinically informed subject-matter expert responsible for shaping and advancing educational strategies that translate evidence-based behavioral health knowledge into high-quality learning experiences.

This role strengthens the clinical integrity and depth of DLC's wellness, prevention, and awareness initiatives offered through the Community Wellness & Impact division, while maintaining clear boundaries from direct clinical care and treatment services.

The Clinical Education Strategist will oversee the development and facilitation of:

  • Community Worksite Wellness: DLC's social enterprise including training for business leaders and corporations throughout Southwest Florida, with an emphasis on scalable workplace solutions
  • DLC Ambassador initiative: formal training for community physicians to earn continuing education credits with the goal of enhancing behavioral health integration in primary and internal medical practices.
    • The role will be responsible for expanding the Ambassador initiative to other industries, adapting content to meet sector-specific needs.
  • Integrated wellness opportunities at DLC: support staff members, clients, and families/caregivers with wellness education and workshops.

Key Responsibilities:

Educational Strategy & Innovation

  • Develop, refine and align educational offerings with organization priorities, community trends and emerging workforce needs
  • Evaluate and continuously improve training offerings using participant feedback, engagement data, and emerging best practices
  • Adapt and scale educational models (e.g., Ambassador initiative) across industries and audience types to expand reach and impact
  • Identify opportunities for new training topics, partnerships, and delivery models to strengthen program effectiveness and growth
  • Stay current on emerging trends in behavioral health, workplace wellness, and adult learning to inform the evolution of educational strategies

Clinical Integration & Content Integrity

  • Ensure alignment between clinical standards and community-facing education to maintain accuracy, relevance, and integrity
  • Apply clinically informed perspectives to the design and enhancement of wellness, prevention, and awareness initiatives
  • Serve as a clinical resource to non-clinical team members, strengthening the depth, consistency, and quality of educational content

Program Design & Delivery

  • Design, develop, and deliver clinically informed educational presentations and trainings for community partners, workplaces, and professional audiences
  • Translate complex behavioral concepts into accessible, engaging, and actionable learning experiences
  • Oversee and facilitate community-based worksite wellness and continuing education opportunities for professionals

Collaboration & Capacity Building

  • Collaborate with Community Wellness & Impact team members to ensure content reflects current evidence-based practices and community needs
  • Contribute to the development of new curricula, training topics, and program enhancements
  • Support internal staff training and professional development related to clinically informed education
  • Support the integration of wellness education into internal clinical programs by providing clients, families, and staff with tools to strengthen wellbeing strategies

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree required in clinical or behavioral health field (e.g., social work, counseling, psychology, or related discipline)
  • Strong facilitation and public speaking skills, with experience delivering presentations to professional, community, or workplace audiences
  • Microsoft Office 365 skills (Including Teams/Video Conferencing) and Electronic Medical Records experience = Strongly Preferred
    • Professional licensure or certification preferred (e.g., LMHC, LCSW)
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in behavioral health treatment, including experience working with diverse populations
  • Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and delivering educational content, trainings, or curricula for adult learners
  • Strong foundation in behavioral health, including prevention, early intervention, and treatment-informed approaches
  • Ability to translate clinical and research-based knowledge into clear, engaging, community-facing education tailored to diverse audiences
  • Ability to apply clinical expertise while maintaining appropriate boundaries from direct care
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills and the ability to work independently and within a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to assess learning needs and design targeted educational approaches that align with organizational goals and community priorities
  • Experience evaluating and refining educational offerings based on feedback, engagement, and outcomes
  • Skills in identifying opportunities to expand or enhance training topics, formats, or audience reach
  • Staying compliant on all training and immunizations.
  • Ability to pass Level II DCF Mental Health Fingerprinting (General Information can be found HERE), Drug Screen and Local Criminal Check

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Primarily community-facing with frequent presentation delivery in a variety of settings (e.g., workplaces, community organizations, internal trainings)
  • Internal DLC integration to support wellbeing of staff, clients and caregivers
  • Flexible schedule required, including occasional evenings or events
  • Collaborative, fast-paced environment aligned with DLC's mission to improve the mental health and wellness of the community
  • Travel required with monthly reimbursement provided based on federal standards

Physical Requirements:

This position requires a mix of physical activities throughout the workday. Duties involve periods of standing, sitting, and walking, often across various areas of the site. The role also includes tasks that may require bending, reaching, and other physical movements. Candidates must be able to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. A reasonable level of physical stamina and mobility is necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
