Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Director of Outpatient Psychiatric Services to oversee daily operations at our psychiatric medication clinic. This role involves collaborating with clinical and administrative leaders to streamline workflows, expand services, ensure corporate compliance, and guarantee quality of clinical, medical, and administrative processes. The Director will participate in committees, actively engage and lead a professional multidisciplinary team, and demonstrate a commitment to the organization's vision and mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing daily psychiatric medication clinic operations, staffing, and patient flow.
- Supervising nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, and nursing staff; mentoring clinical staff.
- Ensuring high-quality patient care and supporting new treatment initiatives such as advanced medication protocols and Medication Assisted Treatment, with future implement of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).
- Ensuring safe, evidence-based prescribing and monitoring of psychotropic medications.
- Managing budgets, billing, and compliance processes.
- Overseeing compliance with Joint Commission Standards and state and federal regulations.
- Completing performance reviews, recruitment, training, peer review, quality of care consultation, and supervision of assigned team members.
- Adhering to organizational policies and procedures.
- Building staff engagement and enrollment in the mission and departmental vision.
- Reducing barriers to care and ensuring increased access to care and utilization of resources.
Required Qualifications:
- One of the following:
~ Master's degree in healthcare/human services, healthcare or business administration with strong clinical, medical, and administrative experience.
OR
~Bachelor's Degree in related field with related clinical, medical and administrative experience. Equivalent years of experience in a comparable role may be accepted in lieu of formal educational qualifications.
- Minimum of 2 years in psychiatric, behavioral health, or related healthcare settings.
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a clinical or healthcare administrative role aligned with the job description; proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage operational growth.
- Prior experience running an outpatient psychiatric medication management clinic (strongly preferred).
- Working knowledge of psychotropic medications and psychiatric care workflows.
- Experience in implementing new innovative treatment models and advanced services like TMS (strongly preferred).
- Understanding of healthcare billing, coding, and reimbursement processes preferred.
- Experience implementing efficient and effective operating systems and providing exceptional customer service.
- Ability to meet and exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Microsoft Office 365 skills (Including Teams/Video Conferencing) and Electronic Medical Records experience
- Staying compliant on all trainings and immunizations
- Ability to pass Level II DCF Mental Health Fingerprinting (General Information can be found HERE), Drug Screen and Local Criminal Check
Physical Requirements: This position requires a mix of physical activities throughout the workday. Duties involve periods of standing, sitting, and walking, often across various areas of the site. The role also includes tasks that may require bending, reaching, and other physical movements. Candidates must be able to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. A reasonable level of physical stamina and mobility is necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
