Salary: Starting at $135,000 (Ultimate Compensation based on experience, education, language skills and potential impact)

Summary: DLC is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-APRN) to join our Acute Care Services Team, which includes the Emergency Services Assessment Center (ESAC), a 30-bed Adult Crisis Stabilization Unit, and a 15-bed Child Crisis Stabilization Unit.
This provider will utilize a combination of skill and compassion to provide essential support to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises. Join a collaborative Acute Care team of dedicated behavioral health professionals and help provide comprehensive and timely psychiatric care to adults and children in need. As DLC expands its Acute Care continuum, this position is expected to transition into the future 75-bed psychiatric hospital once the hospital is fully operational!
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide psychiatric care to adults and, as back-up, children admitted voluntarily or involuntarily under the Baker Act.
- Manage an expected daily volume of approximately 15 to 20 patients based on acuity and operational needs.
- Complete psychiatric evaluations for minor admissions occurring between 4:30 PM and 9:30 PM.
- Provide psychiatric evaluations, daily medication management, treatment planning, and stabilization services.
- Complete physical examinations as assigned and within scope of practice.
- Complete second opinions and attend Baker Act and Marchman Act court proceedings as required.
- Collaborate closely with the Staff Psychiatrist, Program Director, and multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Complete timely clinical documentation in the electronic medical record and use Eleos as required.
- Assist and participate with precepting students completing clinical rotations as needed.
- Support the future transition of services into DLC's 75-bed psychiatric hospital once fully operational.
Qualifications:
Required
- Completion of the DLC Credentialing process
- Master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
- Clear and active Florida APRN license.
- Current PMHNP certification.
- At least one year of related post-master's psychiatric experience.
- Experience with psychiatric assessment, medication management, and treatment planning.
- Knowledge of mental health and substance use disorder treatment, including Medication Assisted Treatment.
- Ability and willingness to use Eleos for required documentation.
- Staying compliant on all trainings, immunizations, and policy/procedure updates.
- Ability to pass Level II DCF Mental Health Fingerprinting (General Information can be found HERE), Drug Screen and Local Criminal Check.
Strongly Preferred
- Microsoft Office 365 skills (Including Teams/Video Conferencing) and Electronic Medical Records experience.
- Crisis stabilization, inpatient psychiatry, emergency psychiatry, or acute behavioral healthcare.
- Child and adolescent psychiatric services.
- Baker Act and Marchman Act proceedings, including second-opinion evaluations.
- Bilingual
Physical Requirements:
This position requires a mix of physical activities throughout the workday. Duties involve periods of standing, sitting, and walking, often across various areas of the site. The role also includes tasks that may require bending, reaching, and other physical movements. Candidates must be able to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. A reasonable level of physical stamina and mobility is necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
