New Psychiatric Hospital -  Help shape care at our new 75-bed Centralized Receiving Psychiatric Hospital and Integrated Crisis and Addiction Receiving Facility, opening January 2027.

Job Type: Independent Contractor (1099), as needed. Assignments are based on organizational needs and contractor availability and require mutual written acceptance. Services may include in-person or telehealth visits, subject to mutual agreement, credentialing, and applicable requirements. No minimum hours, shifts, patients, or assignments are guaranteed.

Compensation: 
- Outpatient Psychiatric Evaluation: $200 per completed evaluation; approximately 60 minutes.
- Outpatient Follow-Up Visits: $200 per three completed visits; approximately 20 minutes each.
- Partial-Day Inpatient Coverage: Prorated or mutually agreed flat rate when approved and accepted in writing.
- Evening On-Call: $200 per accepted assignment.
- Protocol Physician Stipend: $500 monthly per designated PMHNP.
- Weekend Inpatient Coverage: $3,077 per accepted block, including completed Saturday and Sunday rounding, applicable on-call coverage, orders, care coordination, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities: 

- Complete psychiatric evaluations, follow-ups, treatment recommendations, medication management, orders, discharge summaries, and required documentation.

- Provide mutually accepted adult and, when agreed and appropriately credentialed, child coverage across crisis, inpatient, outpatient, and substance use settings.

- Collaborate through a multi-disciplinary team approach on care coordination, treatment planning, clinical reviews, risk management, and clinically necessary Baker Act or Marchman Act proceedings.

- Exercise independent clinical judgment while meeting applicable legal, professional, medical staff, patient-safety, and privacy requirements.

Qualifications:

Required
- Active, unrestricted Florida medical license; DEA registration; accredited MD or DO degree; and board certification or eligibility in psychiatry.

- Knowledge of applicable behavioral health laws and standards, professional boundaries, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Preferred
- Inpatient or crisis psychiatry experience, including Baker Act services, emergency assessment, and treatment of serious mental illness or co-occurring disorders.

- Experience with adults, adolescents, and children.

- Proficiency with electronic medical records, Microsoft 365, Teams, and video conferencing.

- Recent psychiatry graduates are encouraged to apply, subject to all applicable licensure, credentialing, privileging, and pre-service requirements.

Before Services Begin: Executed agreement and Tax Forms; required credentialing, privileges, screenings, payer enrollment or reassignment, onboarding, and written confirmation of the initial assignment.
