Acute Care BHT Coordinator/Associate Supervisor [Position # 879]

The DLC Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) and Children's Crisis Stabilization Unit (CCSU) provide high-impact, transformative and imperative care to those who might not otherwise have access to rehabilitation resources.

Within the CSU and CCSU, Behavioral Healthcare Technicians (BHT's) implement direct client care, assist individuals as they transition to the next step of their wellness or recovery journey and guarantee the safety of both clients and colleagues.


Please note, the responsibilities outlined below are in addition to the standard BHT duties of providing exceptional front-line client care (crisis support and intervention, managing group/recreational activities, admissions and discharges, etc.).

- Providing leadership and daily oversight to all PRN BHT Staff in provision of safe and therapeutic milieu for CSU and CCSU.

- Overseeing all PRN BHT Staff in the following tasks:

~ Safety Rounds and 15-minute checks

~ Search and seizure plus personal safety plans

~ Responding to both emergency and non-emergency back-up calls

- Maintaining cost effective yet adequate inventory of unit supply stock.

- Ensuring all Visitors are being wanded during visitation hours to preserve safety of the unit.

- Assisting Trainer plus tracking scheduled and multi-level trainings for all PRN BHT Staff. 

- Working with Supervisor to ensure proper Staff levels and necessary transport needs.

- Providing administrative supervision to all PRN BHT Staff.

- Reviewing and approving time sheets for all PRN BHT Staff.

- Comprehensive training of all PRN BHT Staff and working with Recruiter for Staff selection.

- Assisting with the review of and response to grievances regarding the program.

- Completing the following in a timely manner for all PRN BHT Staff:

~ 3-month progress reports

~ 6-month evaluations

~ Annual evaluations

~ All employee changes and updates


- High School Diploma/GED = Required

- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field = Preferred

- Experience in behavioral healthcare = Strongly Preferred

- Group home or similar exposure = Strongly Preferred

- Pragmatic approach to leadership and staff development = Strongly Preferred

- Demonstrated and experienced-based client service skills = Required 

- Ability to be a role model and nurture a team environment = Preferred

- Dedication to accurate, succinct and call-to-action communication = Required

- Experience in remaining alert, attentive and productive during late-night hours = Required
