PRN Licensed Clinician: ESAC/Baker Act After Hours & Mobile Response Team [Position # 1174]
The Emergency Services Assessment Center (ESAC) is seeking a dedicated and licensed clinician to join our after-hours on-call team. The clinician will be responsible for supporting our MRT Team, responding to Baker Act screenings, and ensuring timely, effective intervention during off-hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
POSITION DETAILS:
- Responding to Baker Act screening requests from ESAC staff within 30 minutes of being contacted.
- Remaining free from alcohol or controlled substances that could impair clinical judgment or driving ability during on-call period.
- Arriving at the ESAC location within one hour or be available via tele communications after receiving the initial phone briefing from the ESAC or MRT clinician to triage clients for potentially meeting criteria to be placed under a Baker ACT.
- Accurately Documenting Baker Act screenings in DLC's Electronic Medical Records system.
- Conducting psychiatric/clinical triage as well as handling crisis interventions.
- Completing comprehensive assessments that respect the Florida Mental Health Act.
- Cross-training with other DLC professionals to deliver seamless Client care.
- Working as part of a focused team with MD's, Nurses, Behavioral Health Techs and Support Staff plus external providers, community organizations and family members.
TO BECOME A MEMBER OF OUR ELITE PRN CLINICAL TEAM:
- Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Behavioral Science, Psychiatric Nursing, Rehabilitation Counseling or other relevant field = Required
- Current Florida LMFT, LMHC or LCSW License = Required
- Active/Clear FL Driver's License = Required
- Experience in Crisis Intervention, the Baker Act process and Mental Health Assessment/Triage = Required
- Ability to respond promptly and efficiently during high-pressure situations = Required
- High-level communication skills, documentation abilities and team collaboration experience = Required
- Bilingual = Preferred But Not Required
- Electronic Medical Records and Office 365 (Including Teams) = Strongly Preferred
- Staying compliant on all trainings and immunizations = Required
- Ability to pass a Level II DCF Mental Health Fingerprinting, Drug Screen and Local Criminal Check = Required
LOGISTICS & COMPENSATION:
- PRN/On-Call Position (Hourly/Non-Exempt)
- PRN/On-call hours include all times outside of regular operating hours on
standard workdays, and 24-hours/day on weekends and holidays.
~ On-call shifts begin at 12:00 AM on Sunday and end at
11:59 PM on Saturday, covering a full 7-day period.\
~ The ESAC After-Hours Baker Act & MRT On-Call schedule will be distributed
at least one month in advance.
~ Clinicians would be
required to notify the scheduler of any planned PTO that would conflict with an
on-call week before the schedule is finalized.
~ If a change in the on-call schedule is needed after it has
been sent out, the clinician is responsible for arranging coverage and
informing the scheduler.
