Peer Specialist - Mental Health: OnTrack Early Intervention Team [Position # 1025]

OnTrack is an innovative and intuitive multi-disciplinary treatment team - they provide community-based, coordinated and comprehensive services to clients dealing with early episodes of psychosis.

This skilled group works together in supporting adolescents and young adults who have experienced an initial psychotic episode in the early stages of mental health issues. The OnTrack Team also supports the families of those they serve and focuses on a modern and therapeutic approach.

POSITION DETAILS:

- Participating in required OnTrack trainings, consultation calls and modules.

- Providing 1-to-1 peer support services adhering to the components of the OnTrack recovery model.

      ~ Influencing Team Culture: Utilizing lived experience and non-clinical approach to support the  understanding of team members.

      ~ Team Communication & Collaboration: Working as an essential member of a multi-disciplinary team, documenting their interactions collaboratively and communicating back to the team.

      ~ Outreach & Engagement: Connecting with both participants and families and the community about OnTrack and offering hope and support around the possibility of recovery.

      ~ Relationship Building: Forming meaningful partnerships with program participants and working closely with a participant's family of choice.

      ~ Tool Generation: Partnering with participants and families to support development and creation of self-care and self-awareness tools.

      ~ Community Mapping:  Learning about and connecting participants and their families to community-based supports and resources.

      ~ Group Facilitation: Creating spaces and opportunities for participants to learn together and support one another.

- Supporting peers to make personal choices that both drive and define their mental health wellness.

- Responding appropriately to risk indicators to ensure the safety and welfare of all peers.

- Behaving ethically, communicating efficiently, making decisions smoothly and demonstrating flexibility in daily accomplishments with peers.

- Functioning as part of a multi-disciplinary team plus other duties as assigned by OnTrack Clinical Supervisor.

TO JOIN OUR ELITE ONTRACK TEAM:

- High School Diploma/GED = Required

- Mental Health Peer Specialist Certification = Required w/in 1 Year Of Hire

- Personally lived experience with mental health recovery = Required

- Personally lived experience with psychosis during youth or adolescent/young adult years = Preferred

- Ability/willingness to disclose own experiences with mental health services for the purposes of empowerment = Required

- An understanding of adolescent culture and a respect for the self-determination of young people = Required

- Knowledge of local community resources = Strongly Preferred

- Spanish or Creole Bilingual = Preferred

- Ability to accommodate a flexible schedule with some on-call needs = Required

- Willingness to provide services in whatever setting is helpful to peers (the community, in peer homes, in office, in hospitals, etc.) = Required

- Experience working with children/youth/young adults in a community-based mental health setting = Strongly preferred

- Maintaining appropriate boundaries with peers and assuring confidentiality = Required

- Current State of Florida Driver's License with clean record = Required

- Demonstrated abilities in the proper management of time, communication and information = Required

- Active participation in mental health self-help activities, peer support, peer advocacy programs, participant-run organizations, etc. = Required

- Natural ability to work well with a diverse group of peers, coworkers and community partners = Required

- Microsoft Office 365 (Including Teams/Video Conferencing) Electronic Medical Record = Strongly Preferred

- Ability to pass a Level II DCF Mental Health Fingerprinting, Drug Screen and Local Criminal Check = Required

LOGISTICS & COMPENSATION:

~ Monday-Friday, Target Standard Business Hours
