Job Summary: This role plays a vital part in amplifying DLC's mission by managing and growing our digital presence across all social media and online platforms. It is responsible for assisting in the development of executing the digital communications strategy that educates, engages, and inspires our community while maintaining a tone of compassion, inclusivity, and professional credibility. Working closely with DLC's Marketing Manager and Marketing/Communications Team (MARCOM), the Coordinator will ensure that all digital content reflects our mission, values and advances our commitment to mental and behavioral health advocacy
Key Responsibilities:
Social & Digital Media Management
- Manage and maintain all organizational social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
- Develop, schedule, and publish engaging, mission-aligned content across all channels on a consistent editorial calendar.
- Monitor all social channels for comments, messages, and mentions, providing timely and thoughtful responses in alignment with organizational voice and clinical sensitivity guidelines.
- Ensure all content adheres to best practices for mental health communications, including trauma-informed language and responsible messaging standards.
Paid Advertising & Campaign Management
- Plan, execute, and optimize paid digital advertising campaigns across Meta (Facebook/Instagram), Google Ads, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms.
- Manage advertising budgets effectively, ensuring maximum reach and ROI aligned with organizational goals and available resources.
- Conduct audience research and targeting to ensure campaigns reach individuals most likely to benefit from or support the organization's services.
- Monitor and adjust ad performance in real time, applying A/B testing strategies to improve campaign effectiveness.
Community Engagement
- Foster an active and supportive online community by engaging authentically with followers, partners, advocates, and individuals seeking information about mental health resources.
- Collaborate with clinical and program staff to develop content that responsibly addresses mental health topics, reduces stigma, and promotes help-seeking behavior.
- Partner with community organizations, influencers, and mental health advocates to expand reach and amplify the organization's message.
- Respond to sensitive inquiries with empathy and direct individuals to appropriate resources or staff as needed.
Platform & Channel Expansion
- Identify and evaluate emerging social media platforms and digital channels for potential organizational presence.
- Develop and implement strategies for launching and growing the organization on new platforms, including content planning, audience development, and goal-setting.
- Stay current on digital media trends, platform algorithm changes, and best practices in nonprofit and healthcare communications.
- Manage the organization's website content and updates in coordination with Marketing Manager and 3rd party contractor(s).
Analytics, Reporting & Strategy
- Track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) across all digital platforms, including reach, engagement, follower growth, website traffic, and conversion metrics.
- Produce regular performance reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual) for executive leadership team and the Board of Directors, as requested.
- Use data insights to refine content strategy, optimize posting schedules, and improve overall digital performance.
- Maintain dashboards and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite) to provide real-time visibility into digital performance.
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience managing social media and digital communications, preferably within a nonprofit, healthcare, or public health setting.
- Demonstrated proficiency with major social media platforms and social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social).
- Experience planning and managing paid social and digital advertising campaigns.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to adapt tone and messaging for diverse audiences.
- Proficiency with web analytics tools, including Google Analytics and native platform insights.
- Ability to handle sensitive topics with discretion, empathy, and a trauma-informed approach.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Microsoft Office 365 skills (Including Teams/Video Conferencing) and Electronic Medical Records experience.
- Staying compliant on all trainings and immunizations.
- Ability to pass Level II DCF Mental Health Fingerprinting (General Information can be found HERE), Drug Screen and Local Criminal Check.
Preferred
- Experience working in a mental or behavioral health environment or with vulnerable populations.
- Familiarity with responsible messaging guidelines for mental health and suicide prevention communications (e.g., guidelines from SAMHSA, AFSP, or reportingonsuicide.org).
- Graphic design or multimedia skills using tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
- Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact).
- Knowledge of ADA/accessibility best practices for digital content.
- Bilingual or multilingual communication skills a plus.
Physical Requirements: This position requires a mix of physical activities throughout the workday. Duties involve periods of standing, sitting, and walking, often across various areas of the site. The role also includes tasks that may require bending, reaching, and other physical movements. Candidates must be able to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. A reasonable level of physical stamina and mobility is necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
