Peer Specialist: Mobile Response Team Care Specialist (MRT)
Mobile Response Team (MRT) Team serves adults in Collier County who require crisis interventions in the community. Referral sources include health care providers, family members, self-referral, law enforcement, and other community members. This is a fast-paced environment where MRT Client Care Specialists work collaboratively with Psychiatrists, Nurses, and the MRT clinical staff to meet the needs of Clients and families via a multi-disciplinary team approach. Population consists of individuals with mental health or substance use disorder issues; some with severe and persistent co-occurring disorders
POSITION DETAILS:
-Providing mobile crisis screening in person, via telehealth, or via phone to support persons with co-occurring mental health/substance use disorders.
Responding to crisis situations, conducting approved triage tasks and completing safety planning with individuals in crisis in the school, home and community.
- Providing emotional support and service coordination to clients, families and referrals.
-Meeting clients where they are at, utilizing peer recovery principles, creating safe psychological space, reducing stigma, and supporting individualized & safe care.
Connecting individuals in crisis to the appropriate resources within DLC and the community in a timely manner and via warm hand-off to same day and/or urgent services.
- Requires local travel including to/from multiple service sites, to the homes, or residences or persons served, and within the community.
TO JOIN OUR ELITE MRT TEAM:
-Highschool Diploma/GED=Required
-Mental Health Peer Specialist Certification = Required or required to be obtained within 1 year
- At least 1 year of experience in related environment (mental health, group homes, prison, detention centers, etc.) = Preferred
- Crisis intervention and support skills = Required
- Current and clear Florida Driver's License = Required
- Demonstrated expertise in working with and relating to diverse cultural/social/economic backgrounds
- Ability to effectively utilize available resources to ensure a comprehensive, holistic and integrated treatment approach that supports evidence-based practices =Preferred
- Flexibility, accessibility, working after hours, including some weekends, to ensure accountability and integrity = Required
- Exceptional skills in organization (time and information) and communication (written and verbal) = Required
- Microsoft Office 365 skills (Including Teams/Video Conferencing) and Electronic Medical Records experience = Strongly Preferred
- Staying compliant on all trainings and immunizations = Required
- Ability to pass a Level II DCF Mental Health Fingerprinting, Drug Screen and Local Criminal Check = Required
Full-Time Hourly/Exempt Position
- Schedule After Training Period: 4 x 10-Hour Workweek
